This practical courses will teach you how to perform Rhinoscopy, Otoendoscopy Uretrocyctoscopy and vaginoscopy.

The basic technique for efficient rhinoscopic examination of the nasopharynx, nose and para-nasal sinuses will be discussed in detail along with biopsy techniques and common nasal pathology including neoplasia.

Laser debulking of nasal masses will be discussed and diagnosis and treatment of nasal aspergillosis using a minimally invasive technique will also be covered.

Endoscopic examination of pharyngeal stick injuries and other traumatic wounds and fistulas will also be discussed.

The course will also cover basic video-otoscopy techniques including the examination of the external ear canal and tympanic bulla.

The technique of myringotomy will be discussed in detail together with collection of diagnostic samples from the ear.

Examination of the lower urinary tract of the bitch and queen will be covered in detail including instrumentation and technique.

Diagnosis and treatment of common pathology including paramesonephric remnants, ectopic ureters, urinary sphincter mechanism incontinence and transitional cell carcinoma will also be covered.

The techniques will be exercises in a wet lab environment.

Patients with neuro symptoms can be tricky. During this course you will learn how to approach the neurological patient with examination, diagnostics, treatment of the most common conditions and when to refer. Day 1 takes you through: - Understand the neurological examination and learn how to neuroanatomically localise the lesion. - Neuromuscular conditions - A case based video tour looking at neuromuscular diseases that you might encounter in practice and how best to deal with them including myasthenia gravis and polyradiculoneuritis. - Spinal emergencies – Work through case examples of spinal emergencies, create succinct differential diagnoses and understand how to diagnose and treat them, in first opinion practice if referral isn’t an option - Intracranial emergencies – how to manage patients with traumatic brain injuries, ischaemic infarcts, toxicities and other intracranial emergencies. Day 2 takes you through: - Understanding Vestibular Syndrome - A case based approach to vestibular syndrome in dogs and cats. For each case we will neuroanatomically localise the problem, detail the diagnostic investigations and discuss treatment options. - Seizures and management of status epilepticus in the emergency situation - Feline neurology – Become comfortable with the most common feline specific neurological conditions, how to diagnose them and how to treat them in first opinion practice. - Tetanus - We will discuss the clinical presentation, pathophysiology, diagnosis and management of the disease together with the expected prognosis before running through a clinical case.

This practical courses will teach you how to perform laparoscopies including ovariectomies/ ovariehysterectomies.

The course will cover the basic approach and principles of laparoscopy in the dog and cat.
Basic laparoscopic procedures will be covered and several laparoscopic procedures will be covered in detail including liver, pancreas and other organ biopsy techniques, full thickness bowel biopsy, laparoscopic gastropexy and GI foreign body removal, jejunostomy tube placement and cryptorchidectomy.
Ovariectomy and ovariohysterectomy procedures will be taught.
Laparoscopic assisted cystoscopy will also be covered and there will be ample opportunity to practise laparoscopic techniques and instrument handling in a dry and wet-lab environment.

Ultrasound is a diagnostic imaging technique with a broad range of applications. For decades it has been used in the diagnosis of musculoskeletal injuries in humans. With increasing awareness of soft tissue injury by veterinarians specializing in canine sports medicine, orthopedics and rehabilitation, diagnostic ultrasound has become very popular in this field.

This 2 day Wet-lab Course on Orthopedic Ultrasound introduces & refines the latest musculoskeletal ultrasound techniques and applications. The course focuses on relevant ultrasound anatomy and standardized scanning protocols for common indications and procedures relevant in everyday clinical practice. Diagnostic performance and recognition of pathologies will be elucidated.

Dr. Nele Eley is the driving force behind musculoskeletal imaging at the Veterinary University in Giessen and has held multiple seminars and lectures on this subject throughout Europe and recently offered educational training in North America as well.

Med den simple systematiske algoritme C-ABcDE bliver du på dette kursus forberedt optimalt på at kunne håndtere akutte og livstruende lidelser i klinikken. Du bliver i stand til trygt at håndtere den akutte patient på systematisk vis. Det forbedrer behandlingen, prognosen og reducerer stress for både patient og personale. Vi gennemgår patienter og tilgangen lige fra triage i telefonen og venteværelset til vurdering og behandling af de mest relevante akutte lidelser og skader. Du får handouts med de forskellige trin i C-ABcDE med hjem, så du med det samme kan bruge din viden hjemme på klinikken. Vi fokuserer også på hjertestop, hvor vi må handle hurtigt. Vi gennemgår årsagerne til hjertestop i klinikken og under operation, samt de indledende tegn til det, så du opfanger det så tidligt som muligt. Vi gennemgår de nyeste retningslinjer indenfor RECOVER (Reassessment Campaign on Veterinary Resuscitation) og gennemgår både praktisk hjertelungeredning for store hunde, små hunde og katte samt de forskellige mulige medicinske behandlinger. Også her får du handouts med flowcharts over alle de forskellige trin i behandlingen med hjem til at sætte op i klinikken, så du kan bruge din viden med det samme. Vi øver hjertelungeredning praktisk på modeller og kadavere.

This practical courses will teach you how to perform endoscopies in the upper and lower gastrointestinal tracts and respiratory tract.

The course will cover the techniques of using and caring for flexible endoscopes based on an understanding of their construction and capabilities.

Patient preparation will be covered and general endoscopy techniques will be taught on anatomic models. Indications for respiratory tract endoscopy will be discussed and the awareness of possible complications will be covered.

General endoscopic technique for examination of upper and lower respiratory tracts will be taught.

You will gain and understanding of the normal endoscopic appearance of nasal cavity, larynx, trachea and bronchi.

Techniques for diagnostic upper and lower gastrointestinal flexible endoscopy will be discussed and the awareness of possible complications will be covered inluding patient preparation.

You will gain an understanding of a normal appearance of the oesophagus, stomach, duodenum ileum, colon, caecum and rectum.

The course will enhance your abilities to:
