This course focuses on equine gastrointestinal disorders, providing participants with the essential knowledge and skills to diagnose, treat, and manage a range of conditions that can affect the digestive system of horses. Visa kursbeskrivningParticipants will learn to differentiate between acute and chronic diarrhoea, define therapeutic protocols for both, and explore various fluid therapy options to manage hydration and electrolyte imbalances in horses. The course will also focus on identifying common renal and hepatic diseases, and participants will be trained to match clinical signals, clinical history, and antidote options with possible intoxications.
The course will also delve into the Equine Gastric Ulcer Syndrome (EGUS), allowing participants to revise its pathophysiology and develop comprehensive management strategies.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
Identify the clinical signs of acute abdomen and understand its pathophysiological bases.
Define diagnostic procedures for suspected acute abdomen.
Develop treatment protocols for acute abdominal conditions in horses.
Evaluate gastrointestinal diseases using various diagnostic tools.
Recognize and treat colic in horses, including treatment options.
Differentiate between acute and chronic diarrhoea, and develop therapeutic protocols for both.
Administer fluid therapy for horses, based on their specific needs.
Recognize common renal and hepatic diseases in horses.
Match clinical history and signs with potential intoxications and the use of antidotes.
Revise and manage the EGUS-Syndrome in horses.
Through theoretical insights and practical case studies, this course provides the essential tools for managing complex gastrointestinal issues in equines, ultimately improving clinical outcomes.

Effective pain management is crucial for optimal patient outcomes, high client satisfaction, and ultimately has a positive impact on clinic resource utilization.
This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the use of local anesthesia and analgesia through plexus and peripheral nerve blocks, as well as epidural blocks.
By managing pain locally, the need for systemic anesthesia and analgesia is reduced, optimizing patient recovery and quality of life.
