"Rear end", perineal & external urogenital surgery rarely comes up in surgical courses apart from during longer certifications, but they appear fairly regularly in everyday practice. If you want to learn when & how to operate around the back end of our dogs, & how to make sure the patient is suitably pain-free during surgery with suitable local blocks & CRIs, then this course is for you.
We will discuss tail, anal, vulval, scrotal and penile surgeries - both those that you will maybe see monthly, but also those that come slightly more rarely, but you might still want to perform in-house.

Visa kursbeskrivningThis 2-day course will incorporate theoretical lectures in the morning and practical wet-labs in the afternoons to give a thorough all-round rear-end experience. Procedures discussed will include screw-tail amputation, anal gland resection, perineal herniorrhaphy, vulvoplasty & episiotomy, paraphimosis, canine urethrotomy & scrotal urethrostomy among others.
Most of these procedures will as a common theme require the patient in ventral recumbency, with their "Bottoms Up"."
