Vetnordic prepares for growth with leadership transition

Britt Ingvertsen is leading Vetnordic into the future

In two years, Vetnordic has created the future partner and supplier for the veterinary industry all over the world. To drive future expansion and growth, a leadership transition is being implemented in the Executive Board and new, strong competencies, both veterinary and digital, are being added to the Board of Directors.

Since the commercial start in April 2023, Vetnordic has become an established name in the veterinary industry with its own brand, strong strategic agreements with well-known A-brands and with a strong and wide product range that covers the needs of veterinary clinics for consumables. In addition, Vetnordic has established a wide-ranging training centre, is focused on sustainability, and has implemented the digital technology of the future.

Jesper Smith has been CEO of Vetnordic since its inception and has now chosen to pass on the baton. He will resign on 31 March 2025.

"Jesper has been decisive for establishing Vetnordic, and has made a great effort, spent many hours and created the foundation for the future. I understand Jesper's decision, and I respect people who also consider family and themselves in the balance between work and private time. I would like to thank Jesper for his efforts," - says Peter Eriksen Jensen, chairman of the Board of Vetnordic.

On 1 April 2025, Britt Ingvertsen will take up the position as CEO of Vetnordic. Until now, she has served as board member of the company, is a trained veterinarian and has experience as CEO of AniCura Aarhus animal hospital, as well as from leading positions in the veterinary industry, including as Nordic sales manager for IDEXX. Henrik Thorsen, Head of Supply Chain, will continue as COO and, together with Britt, will constitute the Executive Board of Vetnordic.

"I am happy and honoured to have the opportunity to contribute to Vetnordic's future development. This company has solid values and is built on integrity and honesty. There is a sincere desire to make everyday life easier for our colleagues in the clinics, to contribute to professional development through a well-established training centre and the Mads Kruuse Education Foundation, and there is a strong focus on making a visible effort within sustainability. The fact that Vetnordic is family-owned, with only a short delay between thought and action, only appeals to me even more," - says Britt Ingvertsen.

At the same time, the composition of Vetnordic's Board of Directors is being adjusted to meet future requirements for competencies, including knowledge and experience in building and optimising commercial, digital solutions. Therefore, Susanne Snogdal and Anders Ertmann, former CEOs of NiceHair and InterMail respectively, as well as Hanne Friis Lund, veterinarian, will join the Board of Directors. Together with the current board members Steen O. Hansen, Mads Kruuse, Sune Terp Nielsen and chairman Peter Eriksen Jensen, the new Board of Directors will take office on 1 April 2025.

With the change in the Executive Board and composition of the Board of Directors, Vetnordic is professionally, commercially, digitally and in terms of solutions ready for the next important steps towards growth and expansion.

"We have a strong brand and product range, our own training centre, future-proof digital technology and 35 competent employees in Denmark, Norway, Germany and China. This enables us to differentiate ourselves and to serve our many current and future customers with highly effective and sustainable solutions. In this way, we will contribute to our customers' improved profitability and help them strengthen the relationship and dialogue with their clients and create more time for their patients," -explains Peter Eriksen Jensen.
